]]> Fun fact about me: I’ve been going to Disneyland at least once a year since I was two years old. I am now 29. That’s 27 years of a restless nights sleep the night before because all I could think about was how much fun was to be had the following day. 27 years of pulling up to the Mickey and Friends parking lot (the best parking option in my opinion) and taking the tram to the entrance. 27 years of desperately hoping my pass had Minnie’s face on it and 27 years of walking through the entrance and reading the sign, “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.” Does Hong Kong Disney hold the same magic? Let’s find out!

When July of 2017 rolled around, I still hadn’t made my yearly trip. However, my family and I had a trip planned to the Maldives with two of my favorite people in the world (S and G) who happen to be even bigger fans of Disney than me. They had brought to my attention that we could extend our layover in Hong Kong on our way home so that we could have a few days to explore. And guess what? They wanted to go to Hong Kong Disneyland!

I’ve only ever been to the California parks, so when they mentioned the one in Hong Kong, I was all for it. I honestly thought it would be completely different but as soon as I walked through the ticket gate, I felt right back in California. Well, a California with a lot less people, much more humid and lush green mountains in the background.
