I’ve been frequenting the Central California coa

I’ve been frequenting the Central California coast for business and pleasure lately and I have to say, I have fallen in love with the cute little town of Paso Robles. The food, the wine, the people, it’s all just so charming!
The food has been one of the more surprising finds in Paso and my absolute favorite is Les Petites Canailles or “LPC” as the locals call it. Located right in the heart of downtown, LPC dishes out classic French cuisine and boasts some amazing cuts of meat.
I dined here for the first time in December and was blown away by the experience. The restaurant is bright and welcoming with an open kitchen concept. Both locals and tourists dine here and while the restaurant is more upscale, I appreciated how laid back and comfortable the staff were.
I’m already looking forward to our next trip and dinner here next month! Keep a look out in my stories!

Let’s catch up on posting to the feed! 😅 Starting with some of my favorite eats and drinks at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa.
During our stay in November, we had the half-board dining option which was one of the perks when we purchased that epic Travel Zoo voucher for our 5-night stay. This included:
Breakfast - Two menu items + buffet at The Dining Room
Dinner - 3-course meal at The Dining Room
Let’s just say, we were VERY well fed here. Portions were surprisingly quite large and the quality and taste were exquisite. I ate the red curry for dinner multiple nights 😂. It was that good.
During the day, we would head to The Bar by the main pool and snack on some appetizers and refreshing cocktails! Sanjita is the best bartender and the sweetest human alive. We remembered her from our previous trip in 2017 and we’re so glad she’s still at the Hyatt!
We also dined at their third restaurant, The Island Grill where we slipped our feet into the sand floor and enjoyed an incredible seafood meal. Unfortunately their Japanese restaurant, Koi @ The Draft wasn’t open yet but we look forward to dining here next trip!
I remember the food being amazing in 2017 and in 2021, during a pandemic I might add, it was just as delicious! I’m seriously impressed with their consistency and attention to detail when it comes to dining. I can’t wait to come back rave about the food a third time!

All the delicious eats at The Ritz Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. We tried our absolute best and were able to tackle 5 of the 7 restaurants and bars offered on property. All of them were memorable in their own way but what they did have in common was amazing food and killer cocktails!
Beach Shack - Sand floor restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine. Perfect for shared plates and seafood.
Arabesque - The complimentary resort boat shuttle whisks you 10 minutes away to the Fari Marina where Arabesque is located. This restaurant has a sunken dining room with Lebanese and Indian dishes.
Summer Pavilion - Cantonese cuisine. Very shareable and very delicious. Their sister restaurant in Singapore has a Michelin star!
La Locanda - Home to the massive breakfast buffet and the daily 4pm tea that is complimentary for Bonvoy members. At night this restaurant serves Southern Italian cuisine.
Eau Bar - The main hotel bar which also serves the pool area during the day. This bar is also home to the nightly sunset ritual. Perfect for pre and post dinner drinks!

Some of my favorite quick iPhone shots from the beautiful Ritz Carlton Maldives Fari Islands. Hands down the best 85,000 Marriott points I’ve ever spent a night. Would you believe their base room is an overwater bungalow with a pool?? Insane.
Architecturally stunning, decor on point and the most attentive staff makes this stay one of my favorite hotel experiences of all time. Yes, you read that right. Of all time. Every turn I took, my jaw would drop in surprise at yet another aesthetically perfect nook in the property.
A full review will come to the blog in time, but if you’ve been planning a trip here on points, I highly recommend booking by March before Marriott Bonvoy switches their points structure to dynamic pricing. Once this happens, this property will surely soar past the 85-100k points a night needed.

Have you been to Vaga in Encinitas yet? Located inside the new Alila Marea Beach Resort, Vaga offers unique dishes with cultural influences from all around the world. For example, their Birria Ramen in an adobo broth. Never would I have thought that would work but I’m here to tell you, it definitely does. Perfect for a cold, rainy day!
I also highly recommend their seafood dishes and their brunch is pretty dang solid. Sadly, they are no longer offering their Red Risotto with crab (first photo) but I’m here to politely ask them to consider bringing it back. It was hands down my favorite dish. Perfect amount of spice and a generous portion of crab!
However, you honestly can’t go wrong with what you decide to order at Vaga. It’s all been delicious so far!

Nothing better than Italian food on a winter day. The ultimate comfort food!
Add Monello in Little Italy to your list of spots to try for some authentic Italian food complete with fresh handcrafted pasta. They also have the the very sought after cheese wheel pasta! The cheese wheel special changes weekly but once your pasta is finished, they put it in a gigantic cheese wheel and toss it around for extra cheesiness and maximum yumminess. 10/10 recommend.

100% worth the wait. Matsu was my most anticipated

100% worth the wait. Matsu was my most anticipated restaurant opening this year and my oh my, it blew me away. I was definitely expecting something great, but Matsu somehow managed to surpass greatness to just flat out extraordinary. With what seemed like great ease I might add.
Located in Oceanside, Matsu offers modern Japanese cuisine featuring seasonal and local ingredients. This can either be enjoyed as a 4-course tasting menu, á la carte or an 8-course Omakase experience. We went with the 4-course option and made sure to each order something different so we could try as many dishes as possible.
At first I was a little nervous about how many of the starters were vegetable forward, but my skepticism quickly vanished as I realized I could have eaten multiple bowls of their mushroom and cabbage dishes and had been a happy camper. There has to be some sorcery involved to make vegetables taste that good.
Each course subsequently surprised me in the best way possible. Everything was plated and presented beautifully, the atmosphere was modern yet cozy and the staff were relaxed and very friendly. Oh, and don’t sleep on the cocktails! Their version of a margarita, Benign Masochism, was my favorite.
I could go on and on but to wrap it up, please add Matsu to your list for a wonderful dining experience. This was easily one of the best meals I’ve had all year!
